It’s that time again! Halloween is really fun, but can you enjoy it with a newborn? Of course! To help you figure out your Halloween plans, we’re looking at some ideas of what to do for baby’s 1st Halloween.
Halloween outfits
The cutest baby’s 1st Halloween outfit is an absolute must, and it makes the day really fun. Why not try a family theme? Also if you want to be a tad more subtle, Halloween pyjamas are great shout and really comfortable.
Pumpkin picking
Perhaps look for a pumpkin patch and take your child to pick out their own pumpkin. It’s actually a really interesting learning opportunity for them, as they can see how and where they are grown. Wrap up warm, take a picnic and make a day of it!
Pumpkin carving
We’re obviously not suggesting letting your baby carve a pumpkin, that’s mum and dad’s job. But babies and toddlers would love playing with the gooey pumpkin! You could also let your kids use stickers to decorate their pumpkins.
Go for a Halloween stroll
If you would rather wait til next year for evening trick-or-treating, and would rather you and baby had an early night; plan to get some fresh air and go for a Halloween afternoon stroll. Show off your little one’s adorable costume!
Cosy Halloween night
Also, instead of going out in the cold, why not stay home and have a family Halloween party? A cosy evening with sweets and Halloween movies is the perfect way to celebrate baby’s 1st Halloween.
Can babies eat sweets?
Giving sugar to babies isn’t recommended – children under 2 years old aren’t supposed to have added sugar in their diets. Some great alternatives are cereal puffs and yogurt bites, great for toddlers. Baby food pouches can also be another option to give to little ones not old enough for sweets.
